TRANSvision contributes to link the differences of the world in which we live. It is the addition of polarities through the mental transport of the energy of the bodies, the realized quantity of all the energetic differences of the world, to take back the words of the philosopher Édouard Glissant. Thus, this work confirms each of us in our own capacity as transmitters. It solicits the forces that lie dormant in us and transforms them into a gift.
Yann Toma is the guest artist of honor of the Biennale. He is President for life of Ouest-Lumière. Taking up the concept of artistic energy (AE), he has been developing since the 1990s a work around a former electricity company whose place, archives and name he has reactivated. Like TRANSvision, his works take light, energy and networks as their theme. Yann Toma is an artist observer at the U.N. where he has been since 2008. His artistic work is part of many collections. His work is notably integrated into the collection of the Centre Georges Pompidou and was included in the inventory of the collection of the Fonds national d'art contemporain in 2007. His personal participatory exhibition at the Grand Palais Dynamo-Fukushima (September 2011) brought together more than 24,000 people in resonance with the populations affected by the Fukushima disaster. Reference monograph published by Jannink entitled Yann Toma (texts, interviews, 700 photographs and illustrations).
