Transmission Council, a poem for Fukushima, installation, Paris La Villette, 2011

This circular work is an artistic device of transmission of AE (Artistic Energy) in Scott-Morse-Light codes. It takes the emblematic shape of the UN Security Council room (New-York), a place of diplomatic representation that Yann Toma regularly attends as an artist observer. It refers as much to our own capacity to enter collectively in direct relation with the events of the world as to our incapacity to understand them without making the least effort. Transmission Council pays tribute to the people of the Fukushima region. It transmits in an uninterrupted way the poem "Resolution" written by the Japanese WAGO Ryoichi (translation ODARA Namihei). Transmission Council is also a tribute to the universe of Stanley Kubrick and, in particular, to the film "Dr StrangeLove".

Installation in situ, Yann Toma/Ouest-Lumière, architect@work, 2011.
